Coolest Prefecture in Japan: Kochi

Reihoku consists of one village, Okawa, and two towns, Tosa and Otoyo. It is to the north of Kochi-city. Tosa-town is a town where I was born. The festival was held on Oct 14, 2018 for celebrating the bumper crop.

In Japan, we have a lot of seasonal good food in fall. Shihochiku: - One of bamboo shoots - Local specialty ingredient in Kochi. - Harvest in fall. (Generally other bamboo shapes are harvested in spring) - Small (outer diameter of 1~2 cm) with square shape.

Kuri gohan: Chestnuts mixed rice It's a traditional fall Japanese fall rice recipe.

   

Incredibly yummy autumn fruits in Kochi Niitaka-Nashi: One type of Japanese Pear (the left in picture) Juicy and sweet. Big one sometimes weighs about 1 kg. Suisho-buntan: One kind of Buntan (pummelo) called Crystal Buntan (the right in picture) Suisho-buntans are grown painstakingly piece by piece in hothouse. The taste is so elegant like a queen in fruits.
